James Wood – Washington Nationals (+425 at DraftKings)

The Washington Nationals are coming off a disastrous weekend, losing all three games at home to the surging Milwaukee Brewers. Washington will look to return to the win column on Tuesday after five consecutive losses as it begins a three-game home series with the Athletics.

James Wood has 24 home runs on the season but hasn’t hit one since July 9 against the St. Louis Cardinals. He has hit 12 long balls in the Nationals’ home park, the last one coming July 3.

In spite of Wood’s cold stretch from a home run perspective, he still owns an average exit velocity of 93.5 mph, which ranks in the 97th percentile in MLB.

Athletics right-hander Luis Severino has pitched better on the road than at home this season but is allowing a 43% hard-hit rate—the second highest of his career.

Matt Chapman – San Francisco Giants (+400 at DraftKings)

The San Francisco Giants gave away a 4-1 lead in Monday’s 5-4 walk-off road loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Giants third baseman Matt Chapman picked up his first hit in six games on Monday, and maybe that will lead to a long ball in Game 2 of the series. He has hit 16 home runs this season, with 15 of those coming off right-handed pitchers.

He will face Pittsburgh right-hander Mike Burrows, who struck out Chapman twice when these teams hooked up last week in San Francisco. Burrows has allowed eight home runs this season, with six of them coming at PNC Park.

Chapman has consistently ranked near the top of MLB over the last three seasons in average exit velocity—currently 93.3 mph in 2025.

Randy Arozarena – Seattle Mariners (+330 at DraftKings)

The Seattle Mariners welcome the Chicago White Sox for a three-game series. The M’s are tied with the New York Yankees for the second wild-card spot in the American League entering action on Tuesday.

Mariners left fielder Randy Arozarena has hit a home run in each of the past three series, capped off by a long ball in Saturday’s extra-innings loss to the Texas Rangers.

Arozarena is 1-for-7 in his career against White Sox right-hander Davis Martin, but that one hit was a home run.

Martin owns poor metrics from an xERA (5.33) and xBA (.297) standpoint, while allowing opposing hitters a 9.8% barrel rate, which ranks in the 24th percentile in MLB.

Arozarena launched 11 home runs in July after hitting 10 from March through June.
