It’s finally hot in New York City, and I’m fully in the mode of going out for ice cream, lying out in the sun, traveling, and wearing clothes that make me excited to get dressed. I feel like I spent all winter in hibernation—barely shopping, barely inspired. Once spring came, I emerged with a new mindset.
This happens every year: winter makes me forget how to dress. I’m perpetually cold and end up using my wardrobe as a form of defense against the elements rather than wearing what I actually want to wear. I start to feel like my closet becomes purely functional. Now that it’s warm, I’m back to living in skirts and dresses. I’ve returned to my tank tops, halter necklines, ballet flats, and kitten heels.
As far as trends go, I’m loving the return of polka dots (a timeless print in my mind) and capris (controversial, but I’m on board). Since I’m someone who’s perpetually browsing online, I’ve been looking through so many different summer collections. Here’s what caught my eye at Zara, H&M, and Revolve.
